Plein Air Brandywine Valley is pleased to announce a new award to eligible Artists—a $500 cash prize for the winning painting or photograph taken at one of our new sites, Marshall Square Park in West Chester, PA. In turn, the winning artist donates the piece to Friends of Marshall Square Park to use in their fundraising campaign to restore the Park’s 1889 Fountain. See The Winners.
Plein Air Brandywine Valley is a painting/photography competition, show, and sale celebrating the beauty of the Brandywine Valley as interpreted by artists from around the country. For four days, artists paint and photograph its most scenic properties, including private estates, land preserves, and renowned duPont properties.
From Monday, October 20, through Thursday, October 23, you might see many painters and photographers capturing the beauty of Marshall Square Park. After judging, the winning works and the artists’ own choice work are shown at a gala, art exhibit, and sale on October 24 at 7PM. Part of all art sale proceeds benefit the Children’s Beach House of Delaware whose vision helps children with special needs reach their highest potential as functioning members of their families and communities.
