The Friends of Marshall Square Park is a group of concerned neighbors formed to support the care, preservation and improvement of our Park for the benefit of the citizens of the Borough of West Chester.

We are actively raising funds to restore, improve, and preserve your Park. If you’d like to help through donations, joining our group, or paying your annual dues, please email for instructions.

MONTHLY MEETINGS

  • Third Thursdays, 7:00 to 8:00 PM
    (Hiatus: June, July, August, November, and December)
  • MSP Gazebo (weather permitting) or
  • 228 E. Biddle Street or

MEMBERSHIPS

MISSION OBJECTIVES

  • Preserve the Park, including the arboretum, hardscape, and all historic structures. See how we preserved the Park’s Brick Swales in the FMSP Logo.
  • Heighten awareness at the Borough Parks and Recreation Department and among Borough Council members of the existence and mission of the Friends of Marshall Square Park.
  • Prioritize and define Park projects and present them for approval and funding to the borough.
  • Raise funds through membership fees, donations, grants and fundraising events.
  • Increase membership and awareness of our group by advertising in borough publications and promoting our group and its mission via literature drops, events, newspaper articles and word of mouth.
  • Encourage responsible use of the Park for all residents to enjoy by promoting appropriately-scaled community activities in the Park.

    Congratulations on all you’ve done. We’re now having the Kendal-Crosslands (CCRC near Longwood Gardens) accredited as an Arboretum. We want to learn how you mapped your trees, and we want to invite you to our arboretum inauguration event on Arbor Day (April 26, 2013)
