The Gazebo Rehabilitation

The Friends of Marshall Square Park’s involvement in the rehabilitation of the Marshall Square Park Gazebo began in 2009 when we installed an electrical outlet. Shortly thereafter, we worked with an Eagle Scout to install a brick surround and entry pad.  Then in 2011 we coordinated with West Chester Borough to replace the wood shingle roof.  At that time, we re-engineered and installed new steel roof stabilization rods and added a dusk to dawn LED light fixture.  In 2019 we replaced rotting floorboards at the entry to the Gazebo and reinstalled the missing rustic white cedar roof braces and half round floor edge trim. Finally, that year we had all the wood structure, trims and floor treated with a high performance wood sealing to help preserve it for years to come.
